RCV Ultimate CV Axles Help Kevin Sacalas Take the American Rocksports Challenge Victory

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 30, 2011 – Tooele, UT:  Team GenRight's Kevin Sacalas beat out this year's King of The Hammers winner and current Ultra4 Series leader, Shannon Campbell to take the victory at the American Rocksports Challenge. The event took place at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT. The American Rocksports Challenge combines a rock-crawling obstacle course with a short course track. A total of 40 Ultra4 drivers raced against each other in a progression of 12 races that narrowed down the field to the top pla first drive audi a6 cing drivers.  

In the first race Kevin Sacalas came in 2nd place. A tire failure in the second event left Sacalas in 2nd to last place, which disqualified him from au 2011 Chrysler 200 Convertible tomatically advancing to the semi-finals. To earn a position in the semi-finals he was required to compete in the Last Chance Qualifier race. Even with his engine missing firing and down on horsepower Sacalas delivered a stellar performance. Taking 1st place, and sending him onto the semi-finals. With engine problems corrected, Sacalas went on to gain the lead in the semi-finals, and in one of the seasons biggest upsets, took 1st place. With a three second lead on the current Ultra4 Series leader Shannon Campbell who finished in 2nd place.

Laszlo Borbely, Romanian Minster of Environment and Forests, revealed that the pollution tax payable will be primarily based on the engine capacity of the car and its age, and will be progressive for vehicles older than 2011 Dodge Durango R / T 10 years. The need for such a clause is due to the fact that more than half of the nearly 120,000 cars imported into the country during 2010 were aged older than 10 years. As such, the highest pollution tax has been slammed on cars older than 20 years and equipped with 3,200cc non-Euro engines. It is estimated that on average the used car segment will bear nearly a 50% increase in pollution tax.

Despite these wider problems, Dacia is still performing. Increased demand in its major export markets meant 2010 marked the sixth consecutive year of output growth for Dacia Automobile, local news source zf.ro has reported. The company reportedly exported 300,000 vehicles, worth EUR2.5bn, last year, helping it achieve nearly a 15% y-o-y rise in production, to 340,000 units, during the year. Last weekend became a landmark performance for Koch in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Although he has finished higher in previous events, Koch's 22nd place finishing position took a significant bite out of his point deficit to fellow competitor Timmy Hill in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings.

The Rookie of the Year standings are separate from the overall NASCAR Nationwide point standings. Eligible candidates earn points based on their best 17 finishes of the season. Those points are earned through entry points and competition points based on finishing position. Top 10 bonus points are also awarded along with bonus points based on three segments of the season which are voted upon by a panel of voters at the completion of the season.

As he heads into the final 16 races of the season starting this Saturday in the New England 200, Koch is a mere nine points behind Hill in the Rookie of the Year standings. The coveted title is now down to just Hill and Koch as the only two drivers that can mathematically capture it. The race was the eighth race of twelve on the 2011 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series Presented by Crown Royal Cask No.16 Schedule and both the #2 Porsche Riley and #8 Ford 2011 Chrysler 200 Convertible Riley were dialed up and ready to go. The #2 Porsche Riley was driven this weekend by Alex Popow and Ryan Dalziel while the #8 Ford Riley would be manned by Mike Forest and Ryan Dalziel. Dalziel would be pulling double duty for the team in the absence of Enzo Potolicchio who normally drives first drive audi a6 the #2. The plan would be for Dalziel to qualify, start the race, and run about thirty minutes in the #2 before handing the wheel over to Alex Popow who would run the remaining two hours while Dalziel would jump into the #8 car and finish up the event. Both cars were extremely fast throughout the race and with Dalziel in the car; the #8 team would find themselves in second position late in the race. When the checkered flag dropped, the #8 car would finish in fourth while the #2 car would place seventh. It may have been an odd weekend for Starworks Motorsports but everybody came together leading to two Top-10 finishes.

"Pulling the double duty wasn't as bad as it sounds." Explained Dalziel. "I was honored that I was given the opportunity, and in the end it paid off for both teams as we got two Top-10 finishes. Running Laguna Seca is very special, and having the opportunity to gain more seat time here was even better. Both cars were extremely fast and handled well while I was in them. Mike ran fast lap times in the #8 and did a great piece of driving as always. Alex was called on to run a majority of the race in #2 Porsche and he did an excellent job and adjusted very well. Everybody on this Starworks Motorsports Team did a really great job this weekend."

Forest expanded off of his teammate's comments. "Laguna was an exciting race. I think we showed that we are starting to run consistently up front again. There still is a bit to be sorted out, we seemed to be stronger in the cooler morning temperatures but the afternoon heat took a bit away from us. We ran a great strategy and were in position for a podium finish, but the rules have the Ford down a bit on power and we couldn't hang on. Hopefully the series will do something for future teams to be competitive with a Ford."

Everybody on the #2 team is still adjusting to the Porsche power, but I think we made excellent strides this weekend. Roughly 10 percent of the vehicles rolling around America right now have the "check engine" light on, according to CarMD.com Corp., a company that creates consumer-friendly automotive diagnostic tools. "And more than 50 percent of those people have ignored the light for more than three months," Kristin Brocoff, a CarMD.com spokeswoman, told me Wednesday. One reason people may be avoiding their check engine light, or even putting black tape over it (something not recommended by anyone), is because that little red beacon is really saying "check wallet."

CarMD analyzed more than 80,000 repairs involving the little red demon on the dash and today is releasing those results to provide consumers with a better understanding of common repairs and costs. The Fountain Valley, Calif.-based company wants to stress the importance of regularly scheduled maintenance and taking care of small repairs early to avoid catastrophic results.

"The problem with the check engine light is that it can mean so many different things," Brocoff said. It can mean anything from bad spark plug wires to too much oxygen in the exhaust — meaning the car is not efficiently burning fuel. Often the car may not even be acting funny but could be wasting fuel or be ready to die. Turning off the "check engine" light costs an average of $356.04 in America.

That average includes all of those warranty fixes dealers provide to new-car owners for not screwing on their gas cap correctly. Loose gas caps are the No. 1 reason the check engine light comes on in Michigan, and the No. 2 reason around the country. The average cost for a check engine repair in Michigan is $348.03.

And if you're looking for yet another reason not to live in Arizona, check engine light repairs in the Grand Canyon State cost $421.49, the highest in the nation. The District of Columbia had the lowest costs, averaging $265.29. My theory is politicians haven't seen an old car since re-election. There is a hint of good news in all of this data.

Ford Motor Co. and other automakers have started building cars with capless fuel fillers. Record breaker Nobuhiro Tajima sped up to the 4,301-metre summit in just 9:51 ni ssan GTR specification .28 minutes in his GoPro Suzuki SX4 Hill Climb Special using FALKEN tyres.

60-year old Nobuhiro Tajima beat the "young guns" in his 910bhp GoPro Suzuki SX4 HillClimb Special racing on FALKEN ZIEX S/TZ01 tyres. The veteran reverentially referred to as "Monsuta Tajima" or Monster Tajima by his compatriots achieved a new world record despite experiencing problems with his radiator. Reaching the top in just 9:51.28 minutes, Tajima beat 37-year old Rhys Millen, who came second with a time of  10:09.24, and 42-year old Jean-Philippe Dayraut who finished third in 10:17.77 minutes, the latter pair failing to match the previous 10:01.41 record set by the FALKEN shod Tajima in 2007.
